The National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) is the largest cooperative federation in the Philippines with 760 member cooperatives. NATCCO was formed by credit union pioneers who believed that the task of co-op development lies primarily in the hands of the private sector. These leaders believed in self-help and in the idea that people in poverty need to create opportunities for themselves to improve their economic well-being.
CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative, established at Cagayan De Oro in 1971, is a leading LIFE & NON-LIFE micro-insurance provider in the Philippines licensed by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) & the Insurance Commission (IC). Through the years, CLIMBS leads and strengthens its advocacy in providing insurance protection especially for the grassroots of the country while upholding the cooperative principles as its way of doing business.
MASS SPECC Cooperative Development Center is the oldest and largest cooperative federation in the country. Following the voluntary tradition of cooperative development, it started with mostly parish-based credit unions being organized in different dioceses in Mindanao during the 1950s.
Model Cooperative Network (MCN) is a federation of FOCCUS-branded Cooperatives that is dedicated to monitoring and examining the operations of the cooperatives to make sure that they achieve and maintain the International Prudential Standards. It helps primary cooperatives ensure that their members’ money is safe and will grow, offer competitive and quality financial services to its members and ensure sustainability of the cooperative operations.
The Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) is a regional member based organization of credit unions and cooperatives in Asia. As we usher in the third millennium and era of cultural and economic globalization, we envisage ACCU playing a vital role in regional credit union development.
The Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines was founded on January 25, 1974. It was organized to promote and engage in the service of life insurance as a cooperative. To date, CISP has more than 2,000 cooperative members and insuring over 700,000 individuals annually.
